Who am I?
I’m Corinne, a freelance social media consultant and I want you to have fun creating & sharing content that builds connections and grows your business.
How did I get here?
After becoming a mum to 2 young children I knew my corporate career in HR wasn’t right for me anymore. I’d always had the entrepreneur itch so decided to start up on my own.
I’d always enjoyed crafts & creating things, so set out to create my own business initially designing & printing tshirts and bags for kids & grown ups. This then moved on to making handmade crafts (such as macrame plant hangers). All of which I enjoyed to a certain extent but I wasn’t generating many sales and it wasn’t making my heart sing.
I knew I needed to learn more about how to use Social Media so joined the Social Mums membership and as I learnt more I loved it more.
As I was realising that maybe social media was more ‘me’, the opportunity to train in Social Media Management presented itself (serendipity perhaps?!) so I took it and Corinne Wallington Social evolved from there.
I am now really excited to be able to bring my experience of working & communicating with people, and my own small business experience together, to support service based business owners with their social media marketing.
I’m fuelled most days by coffee and chocolate (if you’re a tea lover that’s ok, we can still be friends!).
Born in the 80s, I’m a 90s music kid and a pop music lover (S Club 7 concert anyone?). I’m also a TV addict, and like nothing more than binge watching a Netflix series!
I still like to craft & create, but now just for fun rather than work. My favourite social media platform is Instagram and I’ve also got too many boards on Pinterest to count!
Other than having a coffee & cake in a lovely cafe with family & friends, my second happy place is Christmas.
Why work with me?
I’ve been there, knowing that I should be posting something but not sure what. Finding yourself getting to the end of the day and then quickly scrabbling for an image or video to post with the hope it may generate a reaction from your audience. It’s time consuming, overwhelming and it doesn’t actually help grow your business.
Wearing all the hats and managing the juggle of self employed life with the family, whilst watching others seemingly thrive online and wondering why isn’t it working for me?
The biggest thing I was missing was a strategy; knowing who I was trying to reach and what content to share with them. Having these fundamentals helps you set a regular, consistent content plan to keep you on track and, it ultimately will save you time.
My Content Strategy & Planning services can help you do this, so not only will you feel in control of your content but you’ll also be enjoying it! If you don’t enjoy creating your own content, or simply there’s just not enough time and you want a bit of support, I also offer Content Creation services.
Oh but then there’s Instagram… once you know who you want to target & what content you want to share, you then need to work out how. Instagram has a range of features to help you connect with your target audience; I can help you better understand these features, work out which ones suit you & your business and provide lots of tips and advice to get you confidently growing your business online.
Small Business Supporter
As well as enjoying working with small businesses I also love shopping with them, and really love everything about small biz!
I’m a big small business cheerleader and am particularly passionate about supporting local business, which is why this year I have taken over The Buzz Hub Co. from it’s previous ownership – if you’re live in The Chilterns area then please do head over & check out a fabulous directory of local businesses & get involved in our Business Community events.
As well as this you’ll also find me popping up with Small Biz LB. A group dedicated to support small businesses in & around Leighton Buzzard and encouraging small business collaborations.
Thanks so much to the marvellous Penny & Fred at Flat White Websites for their support with the creation of this website.
And also huge thank you to the very lovely Lisa McGill Photography for all the amazing photos across this site.
